Chorus One operates validators on many proof-of-stake blockchains (the ones where security is based on a Byzantine fault-tolerant consensus algorithm rather than wasting energy). We are hiring for several roles, but the one I will highlight is what we call Platforms Engineer. Some companies call this Site Reliability Engineering or DevOps.
The main thing we do is take upstream software, build it, run it on our infrastructure, and then monitor it and optimize that setup. Some things that make this interesting are:
* Building automation that enables us to do this for many networks (70+ currently). * Doing this with high uptime, building automation for failover, etc. * Working with software that is on the one hand cutting-edge and doing interesting things (consensus algorithms, distributed systems, cryptography), but on the other hand that means it’s immature and often not easy to operate and monitor. Often we have to build custom tools, and dive into the source code of the project. We contribute patches upstream when it makes sense. * Some of these projects are exercising the limits of what a machine can do, we have to do some low-level investigation that requires understanding of what the Linux kernel and network hardware are doing to properly identify what’s going on. We do have a small cloud footprint, but run primarily on bare metal. We are looking for people who can not just configure services offered by the public clouds, but who deeply understand what lies below; people who could build their own cloud. That sounds a bit pretentious and it’s not exactly what we do, but it does involve many of the same aspects.A recent example of what I personally find fascinating: last March, Ethereum’s Holesky testnet experienced loss of liveness. This is a real-world, globally distributed system that implements Byzantine fault tolerance, with multiple independent implementations of the protocol. Several of these implementations had a bug in an update, which caused a split in the network. The protocol is designed to handle this situation in theory, but in practice it is triggering previously unexplored failure modes in the implementations, that are hard to test for in synthetic small-scale tests. I think there are very few places where you get to be involved in a planet-scale distributed system exhibiting “interesting” behavior, especially one that is not in control of a single entity. Of course, there is also the less fun part that the testnet was broken, alerts are firing, and it was hard and chaotic to coordinate a fix when the network is not controlled by a single entity. Fortunately it’s a testnet.
We’re looking for platforms engineers and software engineers to help build the automation, but also to dive into the node software of the blockchains we validate and see if there are opportunities for us to outperform the rest of the network; Rust experience is valuable there.

Phosphor enables the development of the built world (e.g. from real estate to energy projects) to be managed agentically by building programming languages and observability primitives (like version control) on top of a hypergraph.
Our primary technical bet is that if you capture annotated "diffs" of user information with the appropriate annotation, you can create path-dependence to train AI models in an AlphaGo like context. By doing so, we achieve agentic experiences for markets that have never even had an opportunity to imagine what life would be like with basic observability.
Our product is similar a combination of Linear and Wolfram, with components and objects that enable advanced financial modeling, legal/regulatory analysis, and geospatial analysis of infrastructure development opportunities.
We're in stealth, but recently venture-backed by one of the best deeptech funds in the market. We're hiring for a few roles at the senior/staff levels: 1. HCI Engineer - You're a prosemirror wizard who probably follows Ink & Switch or the UCSB HCI lab on Twitter; front-end/rich-text/typescript focused; lots of architectural/sync engine work 2. Systems/Compiler Engineer - We design and build dev tools for languages we create that compile into various graph representations. These range from financial modeling calcs (which need to go very fast to support a seamless UX), to computable representations of legal agreements. Extra points if you've worked with hypergraphs. This in Rust but we're exploring a few other languages.
Email resume/linkedin/twitter to oliver@phosphor.co if you might fit somewhere in here, or if you've taken a credible attempt at building end-user programming tools.
We're looking for cryptographically-minded, privacy-conscious engineers to join us.
Staff Software Engineer, React Native — This is a killer mobile app dev that has deep understanding of RN, has built consumer apps.
Staff Software Engineer, Distributed Systems — This person has worked on large distributed systems and will join the decentralization team to build resilient, scalable infrastructure for messaging. Languages: Go, Rust
Staff Software Engineer, Protocol (Multiple open seats here!) — These hires will work alongside the protocol team in continuing to improve and harden XMTP. Languages: Rust, Kotlin, Swift, Javascript
Staff Software Engineer, Partner Enablement — This is a highly technical, product minded engineer that has a passion for supporting integrators and key partners building with XMTP

We provide isolated runtimes for executing untrusted code, mostly generated by LLMs. Our sandboxing is powered by a combination of WebAssembly, V8, and microVMs. Our customers do things like extract data from log lines at run time by asking claude-3-7-sonnet to generate a parsing function on-the-fly and then sending it to us for execution.
Things we need help with:
- Our API (https://docs.riza.io/) (Postgres / Go)
- Our account dashboard (Postgres / Go / React / TypeScript)
- Our code execution engine (Go / Rust)
- New products including code generation workflows (Anthropic / OpenAI experience a plus)

MixRank processes petabytes of data every month from web crawling. We have hundreds of customers using our data products including Google, Amazon, Facebook, Intel, and Adobe, across industries including Finance, Recruiting, Sales, Marketing, and Security.
We’re a fully-remote company with a global footprint in over 20 countries. We're growing, profitable, employee-owned, no dependence on outside funding. Applicants from all geographies and backgrounds are welcome.
We are looking for passionate individuals for whom programming is not just a job but it’s something they love to do. We're obsessed with computers, programming, big data, databases, compilers, hardware, math, data science, and the internet. Does this sound like you? Please apply to join our team.
Our code base is very friendly to new contributors. You'll have a fully-functional development environment within hours (fully automated) and be pushing commits on your first day. Deployments to production happen multiple times per day and finish in less than 2 minutes. Effectively all of our codebase is written in Python, Rust, SQL, Javascript/TypeScript, and Nix. The core technologies you'll need familiarity with to be productive are Python, PostgreSQL, Linux, and Git.
We operate at a larger scale than typical startups. We operate two datacenters with high performance servers we've built that are capable of dealing with the volumes of data we process. We've implemented our own distributed file system. We do full-scale web crawls. We download and perform static analysis on the entire universe of Android APKs and iOS IPAs that are published. Unlike a typical startup where you'll spend half of your time in meetings, and the other half fixing bugs from Jira tickets— at MixRank you'll get to challenge yourself with difficult technical problems that will help you to grow as an individual.
We're hiring continuously for the positions below— they aren't singular positions that will close once filled. Our philosophy on hiring is that the candidate is more important than the position. For each new member of the team, we design a custom role and responsibilities that are specialized to their interests. Other companies will come up with a long list of specific requirements for a position with the expectation that you'll exactly replace someone from the team, or that you'll be the perfect tetris piece that satisfies the job requirements decided by a committee. MixRank is more pragmatic: we'll first get excited about having a unique individual on the team, then we'll figure out the best way to accommodate their specific talents.

Building a robot like this means solving all sorts of interesting challenges: figuring out the robot's position with sub-mm precision; navigating autonomously around the building site; automating measurement and calibration of new robots; lots of distributed systems and so on.
Our robots are now continuously deployed on customer sites and we are earning real money as a masonry contractor. The full team is more than 50 people and we're growing rapidly to meet demand.
Our stack is mostly: Rust, TypeScript, Python, NixOS.
Some open roles:
- Software Engineer, Controls
- Software Engineer, Machine Vision
- Assembly/manufacturing technicians and robot operators
https://www.monumental.co/jobs
P.S. We're always on the lookout for very strong generalist engineers who can operate at any layer of the stack (firmware, networking, UI, application code - whatever's needed!) Drop me an email if this sounds like you.
We recently announced $14.4 million in funding to make blockchains & digital assets useful for the world. Founded by Jump Crypto alumni and core contributors to the Solana protocol and the Firedancer client (https://github.com/firedancer-io/firedancer), we’re tackling fundamental scalability, performance, and usability challenges in distributed ledgers. Our runtime conforms to the RISC-V specification—moving away from domain-specific VMs and bespoke compiler toolchains that limit developer and institutional adoption. Components are developed in C for maximal control over performance and resource usage.
Interesting problems you’ll tackle:
- Building and testing high-performance subsystems in C (cryptographic routines, consensus primitives, networking protocols)
- Designing robust process isolation on modern CPU architectures and tile-based multi-core layouts
- Optimizing memory hierarchies, cache utilization, and low-level I/O for commodity servers
You:
- 5+ years of systems programming in C/C++, Rust, or similar
- Deep expertise in CPU microarchitecture, memory subsystems, and low-level performance tuning
- Strong understanding of distributed systems design and consensus protocols
- Experience with high-performance networking and protocol design in real-time environments

Fullstory provides privacy-preserving session replay and analytics for websites and mobile apps. Our session replays are nothing short of magical - they look almost like a video of the user's screen - and the combination with analytics creates eye-opening insights.
We have several engineering roles open. The fullstack roles are going to be working with Go (golang), gRPC, Solr, BigQuery/BigTable, Kubernetes (K8S/GKE), and more on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for the backend, and then TypeScript & React for the frontend.

* Senior Software Engineer, Full-stack, Application Experience - $160,000 to $190,000 (US) - https://www.fullstory.com/careers/jobs/1a014b19-d805-4547-9a...
* Senior Software Engineer, iOS - Objective-C, Rust, Swift, and smaller amounts of other languages. Note that we're not building apps. It's about taking things apart, seeing what makes them tick, and figuring out how to get at the bits we need without negatively impacting the app experience. (Or using any private APIs!) It's part reverse engineering, part systems programming, and part library development. Low-level knowledge of Swift and SwiftUI would be particularly helpful. - $176,000 to $207,500 (US) - https://www.fullstory.com/careers/jobs/ab3f8ecb-ee1f-4431-a0...

Ever wanted to work in the UK rail-ticketing retail space?
Raileasy, who own and operate the TrainSplit brand, are hiring for a junior backend software engineer.
Our API powers some of the most established and recognisable brands in the independent rail retail space (particularly where split-ticketing is involved) such as TrainSplit, Realtime Tickets from Realtime Trains, Split My Fare, Railboard and others. We provide both B2C and B2B ticket booking services. We are a remote-first organisation; we have engineers in a variety of locations across the UK, but we make good use of pair programming, video conferencing, asynchronous communication and in-person meet-ups at mutually accessible locations to collaborate.
We’re looking for someone UK-based who will be able to work on our .NET-based services, primarily in C# – but we have a variety of smaller services written in languages like Golang and Rust too. This role would be ideal for someone who has recently graduated from e.g. a CS course, or has taught themselves how to program and now has a decent grasp on the fundamentals. Any internships, placement years and/or open source contributions/repositories (even if it's just a few Advent of Code days) you could show us would reflect well on your application.
An interest in public transport/rail would be a plus, but is by no means a requirement.
For more information about the role and our API’s architecture, please see https://raileasy.co.uk/careers and the full specification at https://raileasy.co.uk/backend-engineer
For questions send us an email to careers AT trainsplit.com. To apply, email a copy of your CV to the same email address.
No agencies, please and unfortunately, we are unable to accept applications from candidates who do not have the right to work in the UK.
