We're rebuilding resortpass.com's web experience — ~75% of pages this year. You'd own the highest-traffic surfaces (SRP, DLP), set the Next.js App Router patterns the team follows for the next 5 years, and lead the rewrite driving Core Web Vitals, SEO, and conversion. Senior title, Staff-leaning scope — clear path to Tech Lead across Marketplace Core, Growth, and Hotels. 2/3 of traffic is web, so this work is genuinely business-critical, and it's also the launchpad for AI features (concierge chatbot, AI spa booker).
Stack: Next.js 16 (App Router), React 19, TypeScript, Tailwind, shadcn/ui, Playwright, Datadog. Backend touchpoints in Rails/Node/Postgres/Mongo on AWS.
Looking for: 6+ yrs shipping production web apps, deep React + modern SSR/hybrid architecture chops, and a track record leading high-traffic rewrites/migrations with measurable wins (CWV, SEO, conversion, reliability). Strong Full Stack engineers open to going deep on React/Next.js also welcome.
No standard visa sponsorship (possible exception for exceptional candidates).

I'm hiring for both EM and Senior EM levels building the automation layer for freight pricing, matching, onboarding, and settlement. Lead 1-3 teams (FTE + contractors), own delivery end-to-end, ~8 yrs exp typical. I expect all managers to be technical and be able to help unblock the team, though your day-to-day wont be in the code.
Interesting problems: trust/fraud at marketplace scale; legacy-data-meets-modern-stack; and all kinds of problems that come with powering hundreds of billions of dollars worth of transactions every year.
AI/LLM: We are leaned in, but still hold humans responsible for what they push and expect everyone to review and understand llm output before asking other humans to look at a thing.
Culture: I am deeply familiar with Google's project oxygen/aristotle and am building a culture where our teams can do great work with minimal bs.
Location: Must be local to one of our three locations (Seattle, Portland, Denver)
Primary Tech: Node/TS, React, GraphQL, Kafka/redpanda, k8s, AWS, etc

We are a people-first, boutique tech agency creating on-demand teams and software solutions for long-standing clients. These clients trust us to practice engineering excellence as though we were members of their own staff. Our leadership team is ex-Fortune 100 with software engineering backgrounds: we’re still coding. Notable recent projects include a gigantic ERP migration for Anduril, and working with Surge Labs to help develop some of the frontier LLM models themselves (yes, seriously). This is a remote-first agency, but some projects involve onsite work.
I’m the founder and CEO, and I’m trying to do what I call “enlightened business”. I take responsibility for both staff and clients, and I look for people who approach their work with a similar sense of ownership. Applicants must meet a high bar - I personally review every hire. In return you’ll get:
* Flexibility and a low-bureaucracy environment * Clients that won’t treat the vendor like “the B Team” * The chance to act as a code architect, not just implement tickets * Exposure to a wide variety of industries and modern challenges * Me as your personal champion and advocate Feel free to submit, even if you already did in the past. We’re currently especially seeking:
* Back-end, Front-end, and Full-Stack Software Engineers, Tiers 3 and 4 (Typescript/Javascript, React, NextJS; Ruby on Rails; Python; DevOps, and third-party API integrations)Tier 3 roles are typically 5-10 years experience with $150-$180K total comp.
Tier 4 roles are 11-20 years experience, $215-$260K total comp. Higher tiers exist, and we always welcome exceptional applications.
Though not yet universal, many of our clients are now demanding senior/staff engineers with success using modern agentic approaches. Be ready to explain where current models work well and where they do not.
Please apply using this Google Form: https://forms.gle/R5b8FaGEM7CSJzsC7
Also because posting some visibility has been popular with you guys: * We got 170 responses to our July HN Who's Hiring, and made 3 offers. * We're hoping to hire about 5 people before August 31, even though we're starting a little late.
Alaffia Health is a Series B healthtech company in NYC fixing a real, expensive problem: US health plans lose billions every year to improper payments and administrative waste in claims processing. Odin is the workforce visibility and compliance platform for critical infrastructure. We protect the world’s largest construction projects, data centers, and critical assets—from groundbreaking through post-turnover—by unifying physical access control, workforce compliance, video monitoring, and drone surveillance in one command center. We’re already on 500+ active projects with 100K+ workers, securing over $100B in construction value.
We’re hiring two hands-on senior builders:
1. Senior Design Engineer: Research, design, and build the interfaces people use to run jobsites. You’ll establish Odin’s design language and production design system, create coded prototypes with mocked states, and implement responsive, accessible screens across desktop, tablet, and mobile. We’re looking for someone whose portfolio demonstrates customer research, strong product and interaction judgment, and substantial production frontend engineering.
2. Senior Platform Engineer — Edge Systems: Build the software connecting jobsites to Odin’s cloud. You’ll work with cameras, access-control readers, rugged devices, local compute, and constrained networks. You'll own device integrations, video and event ingestion, buffering, synchronization, remote deployment, diagnosis, and recovery. We’re looking for production experience with edge or distributed systems, intermittent connectivity, third-party hardware or protocols, and software operating beyond a conventional cloud environment.
Our stack includes TypeScript end to end, Node.js and GraphQL, React and CSS, React Native and Expo, Postgres, Kubernetes on GCP, and Datadog. Design Engineering uses Figma and Claude Design. Edge Systems integrates with technologies including CCURE 9000, Avigilon, HID, Zebra, Esper, and Iru.
Both roles require strong ownership, operational maturity, mentoring, and using AI to accelerate work without outsourcing judgment. These are individual-contributor roles and include periodic jobsite travel.

I'm the head of engineering at Sitewire, a construction finance platform that helps lenders and real estate investors track projects, automate work verification, and speed up payments. Our small, fully-remote team has built a profitable product that's expanded organically 3x per year, mainly through word of mouth. We're now looking to roughly double the size of our engineering team as we enter our next phase of growth.
We're looking for smart, pragmatic full-stack engineers who operate with a high degree of autonomy and ownership. This is not a ticket factory: you'll be working directly with our PM to turn product briefs into new platform features and will have a hand in shaping the architecture and design of the things you build.
Our current stack is React and React Native on the client side with Postgres as our database. Our web app and API are currently powered by a Ruby on Rails monolith that we're gradually migrating off of. You don't need experience with Rails and it's not what we're hiring for: we're looking for React experience + solid backend engineering experience with any modern language.
Our interview process is pretty simple: a phone screen/behavioral interview, a 1-hour coding challenge that you can complete as either a live session or a take-home (your choice), and a presentation on a project you designed and feel particularly proud of (or think is particularly interesting).
If you're interested, please fill out this form and I'll be in touch: https://forms.gle/diVa5ScKJLYnW7u38
Instinct Science is the AI leader in veterinary medicine. We build the platform that powers animal hospitals — a cloud-native EMR with real-time clinical decision support and applied AI that helps veterinary teams practice at their best. Thousands of users across the globe rely on what we ship every day.
We're at an inflection point: proven product-market fit, scaling fast, and greenfield work ahead that will serve tens of thousands of users. Engineers here own problems end-to-end — from talking to veterinarians about their biggest frustrations, to shipping production code, to iterating on real feedback. You're measured by customer impact, not story points.
WHAT YOU'LL DO: - Drive product direction alongside customers and PMs — not just implement specs - Design scalable, elegant solutions in Elixir and React - Ship meaningful updates weekly, gather feedback, and iterate - Mentor junior engineers and define patterns that scale with the team
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR: Must-haves: - 5+ years building modern SaaS applications, full-stack - Ability to break complex problems into efficient, actionable work - Team-first attitude; strong communication in a remote environment - Empathy for customers — you care about what ships and who uses it
Nice-to-haves: - Elixir or Erlang (we love functional programming) - TypeScript and React - AWS (build, deploy, troubleshoot) - Relational database design and query tuning
STACK: Elixir, React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, AWS

We build payment and point-of-sale software for restaurants, bars, and nightclubs, mostly on Oracle MICROS Simphony (we're an Oracle partner). Small team, real money moving in production — you own systems, not tickets.
Stack: Go (Echo, GORM, Postgres) for the payments API and the Oracle SPI/OPI service; Next.js / React / TypeScript for the operator portal; Kotlin / Jetpack Compose for the Android card-terminal app.
Looking for ~3–6 yrs, strong in Go or TypeScript and happy to learn the rest. You care about correctness (a double-charge isn't a cosmetic bug) and can read an existing codebase. Payments/Simphony experience is a plus, but we'll teach it.
Apply: email george@vitabyte.com with something you've built and shipped — what it did and what was hard.
We're rewriting resortpass.com — starting with our highest-traffic surfaces (SRP/DLP) — and need a Senior Frontend Engineer to be the technical anchor. ~75% of pages get touched this year: international expansion (Mexico & Caribbean now, Europe next), in-housing search from Algolia, a new Hotel SaaS tool, and Spa as a major new vertical.
Senior role, Staff-leaning scope, clear path to Tech Lead. 2/3 of traffic is web, so performance is business-critical (Core Web Vitals, SEO, caching), and this codebase is also our launchpad for AI features (concierge chatbot, AI spa booker).
Stack: Next.js 16 (App Router), React 19, TypeScript, Tailwind, shadcn/ui. Backend: Rails, Node/AWS, Postgres, MongoDB. Playwright + Datadog.
You'll own: technical design (RFCs) for major rewrites, reusable App Router patterns, code quality/mentorship for a junior-leaning team, and API contracts with backend.
Need: 6+ yrs production web apps, deep React/Next.js expertise, proven track record leading high-traffic rewrites with measurable results. Strong full-stack engineers open to leveling up on React also welcome.
Visa: not standard, possible exception for exceptional candidates. JD + Apply: https://uctalent.io/referral/Huynh_Nhu_Bao_Nhan221138/v8QmsN...
Interview Resources is building an AI-powered deep research platform for interview preparation. Instead of generic interview guides, we autonomously research company-specific interview experiences across Reddit, YouTube, LinkedIn, engineering blogs, company websites, Glassdoor, and other public sources, then generate structured preparation reports in minutes.
You'll work across the entire stack: building AI workflows, designing backend services, shipping polished frontend experiences, integrating LLMs and agents, improving research pipelines, and deploying production systems. You'll own features from idea to production rather than just implementing tickets.
We are already profitable with 3k+ paid users.
Our stack currently includes Next.js, React, TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Docker, Vercel, AWS, and modern AI tooling. Experience with LangGraph, LangChain, MCP, RAG, vector databases, or AI agents is a strong plus, but curiosity and the ability to learn quickly matter more.
We're looking for someone who:
Has strong full-stack engineering skills. Has built and deployed production applications. Loves working with AI and LLM-powered products. Takes ownership and ships quickly. Has personal projects or open-source work they're proud of.
Expected salary: $30k – $90k (flexible based on experience, impact, and per capita)
To apply, email hiring@interviewresources.app with:
Your CV/Resume. Your GitHub profile. One piece of work or project you're most proud of (include links if possible). Please include your expected salary in your application.
Two-location outpatient behavioral health practice. We've spent the past year building our own internal tools instead of waiting on vendors: patient self-referral, therapist availability, referral pipeline, onboarding. All internal, nothing public yet. They're prototypes — React from a CDN, browser storage, one system on Apps Script with Sheets as its database. No production backend. That's the job.
What makes it interesting: real patients, real providers, live signal. Whether people finish the referral flow or abandon it halfway. Which screen the front desk quietly stops using. You hear it from them the same day, not through a ticket six weeks later.
Team is me and one operations analyst learning to build with Claude. No senior engineer above you; you'd be the engineering function, and you'd help level them up.
You'd own hosting, deployment, auth, access control, audit logging, backups — and review AI-generated code before it touches PHI. Most of our code is already AI-generated and that isn't reversing. We're not hiring someone to type features. We're hiring someone who knows when the output is wrong and will own that call.
2-4 years shipping production software. Stack negotiable. Healthcare experience welcome, not required.
Email aj@clearviewhwg.com. No cover letter. Answer four questions:
— Something you've built and deployed, and one thing you'd do differently now.
— A time you were told something couldn't be done for security, compliance or policy reasons. What happened?
— Something you learned recently because a problem demanded it. How long until you were useful, and how did you know?
— How you actually use AI coding tools. Where do you let them run, and where do you keep your hands on the wheel?
I'd rather have specifics I can verify than a polished story.
AI Engineer - Python, production LLM applications, APIs, Azure AI services, PostgreSQL, React/TypeScript helpful.
AI Kubernetes Engineer - Kubernetes, Terraform, production LLM serving, GPUs, Helm, observability, Python or Go, Azure/AWS.
AI Cloud Platform Engineer - Azure/AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, networking, identity, security, observability, CI/CD and regulated cloud environments.
Requirements: U.S. citizenship; currently residing in the United States' Eastern or Central Time Zone; ability to obtain a DHS Public Trust; strong hands-on engineering experience; at least 10 years professional engineering experience
These are individual-contributor roles for engineers who want to remain close to the code and infrastructure.
Compensation is competitive and determined by experience and demonstrated technical capability. We are happy to discuss the compensation structure early in the interview process.
To apply, please email your resume and GitHub profile to nicholas.hanson@govstar.us

Software Engineer with 3+ years of experience building scalable full-stack applications using React, Next.js, Java, Spring Boot, and AWS. Recently completed an M.S. in Computer Engineering from Virginia Tech. Experienced in building production systems, integrating LLMs into real-world applications, and developing end-to-end features from backend services to modern web frontends.
Looking for Full Stack Software Engineer, Backend Software Engineer, or AI Software Engineer roles at startups or product-focused companies where I can build impactful products, own features end-to-end, and solve challenging engineering problems at scale.
We're a consumer fintech with 20M+ users who trust us to budget, save, invest, and bank in one place. Profitable for 4+ years. And as of today, our average employee tenure is 3.6 years, a number you almost never see in startup tech, and one we're quietly proud of. People stay because the work is good, the people are sharp, and we've built something worth staying for.
Now we're building net-new consumer products from zero, and we're looking for people who love to tinker and build stuff to ship them with us.
The kind of person we're looking for: • Top fraction of a percentile in craft, the kind of good that's hard to fake • Builds for fun, not just for work. The kind who ships a working prototype over the weekend and can't help themselves • Comfortable owning 0 to 1 consumer products end-to-end • Allergic to politics, theater, and bureaucracy
What you get: • Remote, anywhere with reasonable timezone overlap (and for someone truly exceptional, we'll make async work) • Real scale from day one (20M+ users, real money, real consequences) • Compensation that beats the market. We pay well and we mean it. Base, discretionary year-end bonus, meaningful 401(k) match, and meaningful equity in a profitable, growing unicorn (the kind that's actually worth something) • Platinum PPO health benefits with Blue Shield, top of the top of the line, covering your entire family • A mission worth your time: make money simple, so people spend less time managing it and keep more of it • Small senior-heavy teams, direct ownership, no layers • Forthcoming with the business metrics that matter, so you always know how the company is actually doing • The startup perks done right: catered lunches, wellness stipend, team offsites, casual dress. The stuff that compounds when you're showing up engaged for years, not months • Profitable for 4+ years, so you build with conviction, not runway anxiety
Stack: python, claude, postgres, react.js /react native
If this is you, email us at recruiting@albert.com
Edit: we are in the process of rebuilding our career site to speak to how we hire (e.g. hunt, dont post, find the best). Just an FYI
Also, we carefully review every application. If we think there may be a fit, we'll reach out within a few business days. Either way, thank you for your interest in what we're building and for taking the time to connect with us.
Relevant builds a data platform that helps safety-net healthcare providers deliver better care using data from their electronic health records. Our customers are non-profit clinics called Community Health Centers. You can read more about them, us, and the roles on our jobs page: https://relevant.healthcare/jobs/
We're a small team (~25 overall). We're bootstrapped (no external capital whatsoever, VC or otherwise) and profitable. We've got a modern tech stack (Rails, Typescript, React, GraphQL, d3) and a healthy approach to both tech debt and work/life balance… and we’re also a very nice group of people that get to work on interesting problems for some of the few unimpeachably good actors in healthcare!

We make robots that autonomously construct buildings, starting with bricklaying.
There's a lot of vapourware in robotics, but we're deploying robots across multiple concurrent sites today - and generating revenue. In the last couple of months, our robots have built affordable social housing, health care living units, canal walls in the historic city centre of Amsterdam, and a youth sports centre. Help us to build things that matter in the long run.
We're looking for experienced software engineers for many roles. You can help us solve problems like:
- Data sync and analytics queries across a fleet of robots (that can be offline for hours at a time)
- Modelling buildings in code and finding the right UI for operators to edit them
- Designing systems for robots to drive safely and fully autonomously around a building site
Check out the progress we've already made on Atrium, our operating system for robotics: https://www.monumental.co/atrium
We're rapidly scaling up operations (recently announced our Series B!) and we need experienced engineers who can build the systems that manage all of that complexity. If you think that 'full-stack' could reasonably mean debugging firmware, mixing buckets of mortar _and_ writing React components, we are looking for you. Robotics experience not required!
https://www.monumental.co/jobs
Read a post from one of our forward deployed engineers about how we prototype fast: https://buildmonumental.substack.com/p/can-robots-build-pret...
We are hiring software engineers who enjoy solving important real-world problems and working close to hardware; who learn new domains quickly and prefer practical solutions over over-engineered systems or unnecessary complexity. You’ll work on the projects best suited for you. Projects range widely, and include:
- Scientific tools
- Automation & robotics (Linux & ROS level)
- Embedded C/C++ (typically owned by dedicated firmware engineers, but software engineers are welcome to learn!)
- Linux, CUDA, Server engineering for our AI safety, security, and verification work
- Custom simulation software (usually python)
- Data analysis pipelines (python)
- Organisational tooling (Typescript, react, postgres, etc.)
Structure: Small teams of software, mechanical, electronics, and firmware engineers build end-to-end systems, typically shipping within a few months.
Aqora Quantum is building the algorithm layer of quantum computing: the place where people develop, share, and orchestrate quantum workflows. Hardware gets most of the attention, but the algorithms and the tooling around them are where the field actually becomes useful, and today that work is scattered across notebooks and one-off scripts. We host versioned datasets and reproducible benchmarks so results are comparable, and give teams a way to publish a workflow that someone else can pick up and run. Think Kaggle/Hugging Face, but for quantum. We're a small but growing team, having just raised our seed round, and we're now extending into the US.
We're looking for one senior full-stack engineer. You'd own features end to end: GraphQL API and services in Rust, React/TypeScript frontend, plus the runner that executes user-submitted workflows against simulators and real backends.
You don't need a quantum background, but you do need to enjoy going deep on an unfamiliar technology and getting productive in it fast. That happens here constantly, and we'll give you the time and the people to learn it properly. Beyond that: production Rust you've shipped and maintained, and real comfort across the stack.
Onsite in Paris or remote anywhere in the EU. If you're not in Paris, expect to join us there regularly for team weeks.
Email jannes@aqora.io with a CV or GitHub, mention HN. Happy to answer questions in the thread too.
Deep learning transformed text and images but mostly skipped tables - the data behind most clinical trials, financial models, and scientific experiments. The reason is structural: no natural sequence, no spatial structure, no shared vocabulary across datasets, so the architectures and scaling laws behind LLMs don't transfer.
Our approach: pre-train a transformer on millions of synthetic datasets sampled from causal-structure priors. Your whole dataset goes in as context, predictions come out in a single forward pass - no per-dataset training, no hyperparameter tuning, seconds instead of hours. It works: TabPFN v2 was published in Nature and set a new state of the art; TabPFN-3 scales to 10M rows. 4M+ downloads, 8k+ GitHub stars, production use from liquid biopsy to rail maintenance. As of last month we're an independent lab inside SAP, backed by €1B+ - models stay open, research stays public, same team and offices.
Open roles (most can sit in any of our three offices):
Senior ML Infrastructure Engineer - own multi-cluster GPU infra (Slurm on GCP today, multi-provider next), training performance, and the tooling layer. We spend tens of millions/year on compute; you own that budget.
Research Scientist, Foundation Model - drive the model agenda: novel architectures, scaling 10K to 1M+ samples, multimodal and causal directions. PhD + top-venue publications or equivalent.
Research Engineer, Foundation Model - same agenda from the engineering side: you design experiments, write the training and eval infra, and co-author the papers.
ML Engineer, Cloud Platform - design and scale the backend that serves and finetunes the models. Python/FastAPI, Terraform, K8s.
Full Stack Engineer, ML Platform - build the product end to end. TS + Python, React/FastAPI/Postgres.
Also hiring: Applied Scientist, Forward Deployed ML Engineer, Research Scientist (Foundational Data Science), PhD research interns, plus GTM and ops roles.
~40-person team with backgrounds from Google, DeepMind, Jane Street, Goldman, G-Research, CERN. Led by Frank Hutter, advised by Bernhard Schölkopf and Yann LeCun. Comp competitive with top AI labs.

We're replacing a stack of off-the-shelf systems with in-house, AI-driven ones, so our consultants can do their work better: fewer errors, statutory deadlines met, clearer communication with workers and insurers, and the audit and regulatory requirements handled properly rather than remembered at the last minute.
For this we're assembling a small team of 3-4 full-stack developers who will work directly with our rehab consultants to design systems that actually fit the task. You'd own solutions end to end, with real autonomy and no ops team to hand your infrastructure to. You'd also talk to the people using what you build.
Stack: Python, TypeScript, React, React Native, PostgreSQL, AWS (Lambda/S3/SQS/EC2), GitHub Actions.
Prior experience with ML, NLP, and agentic AI systems is highly desirable, but not essential.
No workers' comp knowledge needed, but we do ask for a curious mind to learn from an unfamiliar domain.
Detections.ai is building the platform for teams to create, test, organize, share, and improve detections.
We’re hiring a full-stack/product engineer with hands-on detection experience—writing or tuning detections, building SOC tooling, or integrating SIEM/EDR platforms.
You’ll own product features end to end across React interfaces, backend services, APIs, data models, search, integrations, and asynchronous workflows.
LLMs are a core product capability, not a bolt-on chatbot. Our assistant orchestrates domain tools and agents to analyze threat intelligence, search detection libraries, identify coverage gaps, create and translate detections, and ground recommendations in connected SIEM telemetry. We care about accuracy, evals, observability, hostile-input safety, and practitioner UX.
Stack: TypeScript, React, Next.js, NestJS, Python, AWS, OpenSearch, and Valkey/Redis.
Expected annual base salary: US$150,000–$225,000, or the Canadian-dollar equivalent, plus equity. The exact offer will depend on experience and role scope.
We’re looking for strong production web-app experience, end-to-end product ownership, and familiarity with some combination of Sigma, KQL, SPL, YARA, SIEM, EDR, or MITRE ATT&CK. We’re a small, experienced, remote team working directly with customers and security practitioners.
Apply: Email jobs@detections.ai with “HN Full-Stack Engineer” in the subject and a short note about your detection-engineering experience.

Clinical trials cost about $1B each and roughly $1M for every day they run late. They are still run on manual data review: people checking data by hand across spreadsheets and PDFs, hoping nothing was missed.
We automate it. Continuous data cleaning, data that stays analysis-ready, and signals across the whole study so sponsors can make decisions on data they trust.
What that means in practice: - Reconciling data from many systems that describe the same patient differently - A rules engine expressive enough that new studies get configured, not coded - Findings a clinician will act on, which means correct and self-explaining - Real product surface: this is what people stare at all day
In production with pharma sponsors. Small team, second engineering hire, no legacy to defend.
Stack: Django/Python, React, AWS. SOC 2 Type II.
Comp: $170-220K + equity.

Unique Founding mid-level Full Stack Engineer to work with co-founders. 3-5 years of experience with Python, svelte, react, postgres, etc. and AI/ML is a plus.($100K - $130K) + equity
We're building the AI agents that run insurance - a $1T+ industry still run on PDFs, email, and manual review. Our agents read the documents, pull from the systems underwriters already use, and actually complete the work. In production at top-10 carriers and F100 brokers; ~10x growth in the last year; backed by a16z and YC.
The hard problems: keeping an agent reliable across dozens of tool calls; orchestration + evals + reliability on top of frontier models.
We've rebuilt the product from scratch more than once as the models got better!
Stack: Python, TypeScript/React, Azure, frontier LLMs.
Roles (all onsite SF): - Staff AI Engineer — agent reliability, evals, orchestration ($250–350K + equity) - Staff Product Engineer — full-stack, own the product surface ($250–350K + equity) - Staff Infrastructure Engineer — Azure, single-tenant, SOC 2 ($250–350K + equity) - Founding Product Manager — technical, first PM ($180–230K + equity)

Hey HN! I'm Alexander, one of the founders of Hatchet. Hatchet is an open-source platform for running background jobs at scale.
We're hiring product engineers who are excited to build the next class of engineering primitives, starting with queues, background tasks and durable execution. We started in early 2024 after launching our distributed task queue (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=39643136).
Hatchet is currently used by thousands of engineers for all kinds of workloads: log ingestion pipelines, code review agents, video encoding, GPU scheduling, etc. Our target customer is fast-growing startups who have a strong need for background jobs system. These days, that tends to be AI companies, though we're general-purpose and not exclusively targeted for AI workloads.
Stack: Postgres, Go, Typescript, React, Kubernetes
Applying: I'm trying something different this time. `ssh hatchet-jobs.com`
Note that we're fully open-source, which you can check out here: https://github.com/hatchet-dev/hatchet (and if you have thoughts / opinions / questions about the codebase, please include those in your note!)
We're a Dental Support Organization running 65 practices across TX/OK/CO/MO/IA/NE/TN/AZ. The unsexy industry description hides what's actually an interesting technical role: a small dev team with real ownership, pushing hard on automation and AI to make dental operations actually work well.
Stack is primarily Rails 8 + React, Electron, C# .NET (OpenDental), and Go — all on AWS.
You'd be joining a tight team where developers own problems end-to-end: from understanding why a billing workflow breaks down, to designing the fix, to shipping it. The domain is surprisingly broad — patient communication, PMS integration, payroll, clinical workflows — and there's no shortage of genuinely novel problems once you learn the business.
Good fit if you like: stable company, small team, broad latitude, and work that visibly matters to the people using it. Not a fit if you need a large eng org — but there's plenty of greenfield work as we're still actively building new features, not just maintaining legacy code.

Distru is the #1 ERP in the cannabis industry. $3.5B in annual GMV flows through our platform, and most of the top cannabis brands and distributors in the US run their entire operation on us to stay compliant.
We're profitable, stable, and growing. No runway anxiety, and we're reinvesting into new product lines. We're an intrinsically motivated team that works without ego, is constantly learning, and genuinely cares about our people (5/5 on Glassdoor).
Distru is at an inflection point. We have deep market penetration in cannabis ERP, a new commerce layer (Distru Commerce, a B2B wholesale marketplace) live and growing, and a roadmap with a growing AI component. Our live AI Order Agent already lets buyers submit orders in any format from any source, killing manual data entry, the first of many bets on using AI to strip the repetitive heavy lifting out of running an ERP.
The roles: You'll own mission-critical parts of the product end to end, from planning and design through implementation, testing, and shipping. You might work on AI-native features (order/purchase intake, smart product matching, systems that learn from user feedback), Distru Commerce storefronts and ordering, manufacturing and distribution workflows, cultivation mobile tools for the floor, or compliance integrations with state systems like Metrc. These are high-ownership roles: you'll partner directly with product, design, support, and our C-suite, and you'll get customers writing you personal "thank you" emails.
Stack: React + TypeScript, Elixir/Phoenix + GraphQL, PostgreSQL, React Native, LangGraph

We’re looking to scale our engineering leadership team with technical leaders who want to raise the impact of a high-performing organization.
* Not Your Traditional "Jira-Manager": Our EMs are not classic delivery coordinators who shuffle meetings or build heavy processes. Instead, you will own people, hiring bar, technical judgment, and the health of our engineering systems.
* High-Autonomy Team: Because 80%+ of our engineering team is Senior–Staff+ level, our engineers already possess a high degree of ownership. Your focus is less on day-to-day task coordination and more on coaching independent owners, managing ambiguity, and raising team impact.
* Technically Credible Leaders: You will stay close enough to the work to challenge assumptions, review proposals, spot maintainability issues, and jump into the code to debug alongside engineers when needed.
* Organizational Advocates: Beyond your immediate team, you will act as an advocate owning the health and metrics of org-wide areas—ranging from CI/CD health and developer productivity to customer success collaboration and on-call sustainability.
* 100% Remote Async Culture: We maintain an even distribution of engineers across North America and Europe, optimizing for minimal process and maximum focus.
* Here's how we're thinking about AI at Ashby:https://www.ashbyhq.com/blog/engineering/ai-ashby-engineerin...
* Full transparency on engineering levels + comp:https://www.ashbyhq.com/blog/engineering/leveling-and-compen...
Stack: TypeScript (frontend & backend), React, GraphQL API, Node.js, Postgres, Redis. (While you won't always be shipping code, you are expected to hold a deep technical understanding of the system).

At Shepherd, we're pursuing the most ambitious technical vision in commercial insurance: fully autonomous underwriting. Shepherd is an AI-native commercial insurance platform transforming how high-hazard industries get covered.
The infrastructure behind the AI boom (data centers, semiconductor fabs, renewable energy assets) has to be built and insured, but traditional carriers weren't built for this speed. We built Shepherd to solve that.
We announced our $42M Series B earlier this year! That brings our total funding to over $60M — led by Intact Private Capital, the investment arm of one of the largest insurers in the world. Intact is not only our lead investor but also a carrier partner, a testament to the confidence the incumbent industry has in what we're building.
We’re looking for product-minded, high ownership engineers to join our team! The Engineering team is HQ’d in SF, but we’re growing in NYC now too!
We’re hiring for 2 Senior and 1 Staff SWE in SF, and 2 Staff SWE in NYC. Engineers own projects end-to-end so full stack ability is expected.
Check out our open roles here: https://shepherdinsurance.com/careers
Our stack includes: Typescript, React, Next.js, GraphQL w/ Apollo, Node.js, Postgres & Redis
– If you have experience building AI agents or multi-step reasoning systems, we’d love to hear from you.
* In the form, be sure to mention that you heard about this opportunity via Hacker News.

Join us at Snout on our mission to ensure no one ever has to make a health decision for their pet based on the cash in their bank account. Snout plans pay for 100% of routine veterinary care, unlimited visits, and additional member benefits - think pet insurance, that you will actually use every year.
We're growing the team and hiring across the board. Open roles:
Full-Stack Software Engineer - Build and ship every day across our web apps, payments, and data systems, from database to UI.
Frontend Engineer - Spend ~80% of your time building the React/Tailwind experience clinics and pet owners rely on, and ~20% in the Node/PostgreSQL backend behind it.
Backend Engineer - Spend ~80% of your time on the services, data systems, and payments infrastructure behind our wellness plans, and ~20% in the React frontend.
Data Engineer - Own how data moves through Snout: pipelines, ETL, and integrations, including getting data out of the on-prem software clinics already run.
Platform Engineer (cloud operations, developer experience, security) - Own our AWS environment, CI/CD pipelines, developer experience, and platform security - the foundation the whole team ships on.
Product Manager - Own discovery-to-delivery for our wellness platform, working shoulder to shoulder with engineering and the rest of the business.
QA Engineer - Own quality across the platform: test strategy, automation, and the release confidence that lets a small team ship fast.
Applied AI Engineer - Put LLMs to work across the product and the business, from customer-facing features to internal tooling.
Across all roles we're looking for at least three years of relevant experience, and we're hiring senior and staff level engineers as well.
Our tech stack includes Node.js, React, PostgreSQL, AWS, Tailwind, and Python. We use both JavaScript and TypeScript heavily. Our team uses LLM-based tooling day to day, but we're fundamentally a human-centric team, and our product itself does not heavily feature AI components.
To apply please email kyle@snout.com.
