Sentry | San Francisco, Seattle, Austin, Toronto, Vienna, VISA | https://sentry.io/jobs |

We're hiring for every department: Software Engineers, Site Reliability Engineers, Engineering Managers, Product Managers, Product Designers, and more.
Some of the open roles:
- Sr. Software Engineer https://sentry.io/careers/4210347/ - Sr. Web Developer https://sentry.io/careers/3748461/ - Security Engineer https://sentry.io/careers/3654988/ - Sr. Product Manager https://sentry.io/careers/4233556/ Happy to put in a word; reach out at jump.hoop.one@gmail.comSeattle (hybrid), but also some positions fully remote: Zonar Systems, a leader in fleet telematics, has a variety of engineering opportunities available spanning the depth of our stack from vehicle-mounted devices up to the cloud and back down to the (web and mobile) UI layers.

Product Creation Studio | Embedded Engineer, Electrical Engineer, or Director | Seattle, WA (South Lake Union) | Full-Time | Onsite Hybrid
Product Creation Studio https://www.productcreationstudio.com/ is a smaller, bootstrapped Seattle company that specializes in New Product Development (NPD), updates to existing products, and providing engineering services in related areas. We have full-service electrical and firmware engineering, mechanical engineering, and industrial design teams in one shared office. Our focus areas are medical, industrial, and consumer products. These are often truly new products, things that have never been on the market before, so we have to put the R in R&D.
An awesome product that I worked on: https://www.productcreationstudio.com/product-creation-glass...
Positions:
Senior EE - you don't need hand holding anymore, you can drop in most situations and figure out how to move forward. You're good at wrangling Altium's OutJobs, or at least good enough to have won a few Pyrrhic victories. We are specifically looking for someone who has been around the block a few times (or maybe I should say, been in the EMC chamber alone a few times). If you don't meet the requirements on the formal posting but think you'd be pretty great... email me, and while you're at it tell me the coolest EE thing you've seen this week.
Senior FW/Embedded - you like C and/or C++. You've done Bluetooth. You can tell your PICs from your ARMs and you know which one you like better. You probably haven't done Android or iOS work (it's not part of this role). We usually work on little things here: 1MB of Flash is pretty big, and don't get me started on having 1MB of RAM. You know the difference between your J-Link Base and your ST-Link v2. If I make you use an oscilloscope, you won't even bat an eye.
EE/FW Director - you'll be managing the combined Electrical and Firmware team. (Including me.) You need to have strong people skills, a good memory for detail or good notepad, a great Rolodex, and the ability to whisper in the ears of clients. You should have prior experience as an EE or FW engineer yourself, even if it was ages ago. You know how to write or review a project schedule. Also, you're not afraid to step into the shoes of someone who was pretty sharp.
Remote work: for the above three positions, there is an expectation that you will be in office as needed for hardware work, occasional client meetings, and (possibly) a weekly team meeting. Most people work remotely regularly, but hardware work happens in the office and you'll be a hardware person. (This tends to come in bursts.) Hours are flexible (within reason) as long as everything gets covered. If you prefer to be in the office regularly (I do), that's also an option.
Please send me an email if you're interested, or read the descriptions on our website: https://www.productcreationstudio.com/careers. If anything on the website is unclear, don't hesitate to contact me, and I will not hesitate to be honest with you :)
We are also hiring for a Project Manager or Quality Engineer, but I'm not directly in the loop for those positions, so it would be best to apply directly (I'd still be happy to hear from you though!).

DefenseStorm | Seattle, Atlanta | Full Stack Engineer, Senior Full Stack Engineer | Full-time | REMOTE or ONSITE https://www.defensestorm.com
DefenseStorm is a cybersecurity startup that helps banks and other financial institutions manage the deluge of security data that they produce. We take all of the security critical information and then alert on what's important, generate reports, show cool dashboards, and simplify demonstrating compliance to their regulators and auditors. I got my job here through an HN Who's Hiring post 5 years ago, and I love working here. Strong engineering culture - weekly hour 'topic sync' to share knowledge, minimal meetings, flexible hours/wfh, happy customers that give good feedback, and interesting problems to solve. Our engineering team has been fully remote for COVID and we are conducting interviews remotely, but we are just now starting to open up the office for those who are vaccinated and wish to come in.
For Full stack engineers, we use Angular, Typescript, Java 11, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, and we're built on AWS. Our interview loop is one or two ~1-hour phone screenings, followed by a ~4 hours video call - and we've designed it to approximate realistic day-to-day coding and code review (no algorithm riddles).

Airtable | San Francisco/Mountain View CA; New York, NY; Austin TX; Seattle WA | Onsite | Software Engineer (many roles), Data Scientist, Designer, UX Researcher, SRE, IT System Engineer, Engineering Manager
Airtable's mission is to democratize software creation by enabling anyone to build tools that meet their unique needs. Unlike single-purpose apps, we think of Airtable as a toolkit of building blocks that people repurpose to create their own applications. The best-known part of our product is a real-time, collaborative database, but we have layered automations and user-defined interfaces on top of that foundation, enabling our users to create full-fledged applications on our platform.
Many of the challenging engineering problems at Airtable stem from the surprising scale and complexity of the databases that our users build. To address this problem, we recently shipped an ambitious change to our client-server architecture which loads less data into the client at runtime; this required some deep investigation into corner cases of our synchronization protocol. Read all about it here: https://medium.com/airtable-eng/the-curious-case-of-the-miss...
We're hiring software engineers for web (JavaScript + TypeScript, Node, React), iOS (Objective-C, Swift), and Android (Java, Kotlin), as well as data engineering, data science, SRE, and many other roles.
We're a team with diverse backgrounds. We believe in the power of highly motivated and capable individuals to accomplish great things in small teams, with end-to-end ownership of projects and rapid iteration.
Lastly, a word about the macroeconomic climate: these are challenging times for many startups, but we believe Airtable's outlook remains strong:
- Our customers span a diverse portfolio of industries, making us less vulnerable to single-sector shocks.
- Our product allows companies to do more with less (making people more productive, and replacing narrow single-purpose tools); this makes our value proposition strong even for businesses that may be looking closely at costs.
- A considerable fraction of our revenue comes from long-term contracts, which are less affected by short-term market fluctuations.
- Our strong past fundraising and current revenue give us considerable runway.

[COVID-19: Our offices are open, with safety protocols in place. We are encouraging teams to choose one in-office day per week for face-to-face collaboration. We also provide dedicated desks for employees who prefer to work in the office more frequently. However, we also permit employees to continue working out-of-office full-time for any reason. Employee safety is our top priority.]
Spot | Full-Stack Engineer, 3D Engineer | Seattle, WA (US-remote encouraged) | spotvirtual.com
Help build your ideal remote working experience and join our mission to make online interactions more meaningful. We are building team chat 2.0: a streamlined work experience inside the browser that combines the efficiencies and utility of tools like slack and zoom with the cultural and human elements of a spatial experience. If you are interested in game dev, this is probably the closest thing that comes with a web dev salary. Our team is small, but experienced, and this would be a ground-level role that would provide an opportunity to help shape the technology and company in a really foundational way. Our founders are experienced and most recently founded a Seattle startup that has achieved unicorn status.
Our stack is Typescript, Babylon.js, React, Apollo/GraphQL, and Nest.js. Everything is built on top of AWS using modern tooling and automation (e.g. pushing a commit will trigger a deploy). We are looking for someone who has some familiarity in the tech stack and is excited about the space. This position will be remote, but the ideal candidate will be one who enjoys/misses many aspects of a physical workplace.
