Carebit is a design-led healthcare technology company helping hundreds of private doctors across the UK run their practices more effectively and efficiently with our web platform, along with hundreds of thousands of their patients. We’re now looking to build out a mobile app to enhance and complement our web offering as well as work on the React frontend of the application.
You’ll consider yourself to be a mid-senior level developer with solid technical ability and good communication, but what really sets you apart is your interest in product engineering [https://blog.pragmaticengineer.com/the-product-minded-engine...]. You’re not so interested in pumping out leetcode, but instead you’re looking for a rewarding, creative environment in which to write, prototype, iterate and ship where your work has immediate real-world impact on doctors and patients.
Our loyal customers love our product, are generous with feedback, and are chomping at the bit to help build a best-of-breed platform with us. Having doubled in revenue in 2023, we’re now looking for a curious, empathetic and product-focused mid/senior React & React Native developer with a strong focus on product to help them and us on this mission.
We are a bootstrapped, profitable and fully-remote company of 12 (3 full stack developers), and we intend to keep it that way. Having been remote from day 1, we believe in its benefits.
Requirements:
* Proven ability to take a brief idea from a customer to a designed, shipped and tested feature that wows
* Ability to see the big picture when building a feature (e.g. how it can be made modular or flexible to accommodate changes in future, or where else could it be deployed in the Carebit application)
* A keen eye for UI and UX, colour, simplicity and hierarchy in design
* 3+ years of ReactJS development
* Nice to have but not required - experience of React Native, iOS development and Ruby on Rails. If you know React well, we're happy for you to learn RN on the job.
Benefits:
* Salary in the range of £70k-80k + annual bonus depending on experience
* Async work (minimal meetings)
* Fully remote within 4 hours of UTC (if UK based, we usually meet up in London every 2-3 months)
* MacBook Pro, ergonomic chair and anything else you need to do your best work
Please reach out to hiring AT carebit DOT co and introduce yourself with examples of products you have worked on - shipped or not!
The world of eCommerce was built to constraints of physical retail. So much so that e.g. in the US it is illegal to sell things online that aren't ready for dispatch from a local warehouse. Millions of brands building online stores on top of Shopify/Salesforce etc that have long manufacturing lead times have to predict demand then keep their fingers crossed that inventory will arrive on time weeks or months later ready for the marketing campaigns they had arranged.
This isn't working well - there is over $200 billion worth of dead inventory sitting in warehouses globally in fashion alone, and a staggering 25% of all eCommerce inventory is going unsold. To clear this brands hurt their gross margins by selling at discount or stuff just goes to waste. Radical change is needed to create a sustainable industry not just for our planet but for a thriving economy.
At Purple Dot, we believe the next decade’s most impactful innovations in solving this problem will take place before stock even reaches the warehouse. That’s why we power the operational infrastructure at scale, as well as fostering mission-critical consumer trust, to enable merchants to increase sell through by selling earlier. Whether stock is one day or six months away from the warehouse, our pre-order platform gives merchants the flexibility to always be selling and to never miss an opportunity to convert consumer demand.
Our solution is proudly trusted by hundreds of brands across nearly every industry including Mattel, French Connection, Lisa Says Gah and Knockaround processing millions of dollars per month in pre-order transactions.
We are a team of 6 engineers, 2 Sales folks, 2 Customer support folks + CEO/CTO located between London, UK and Charlotte, NC, USA – and are backed by investors like Connect, Unusual, and Moxxie Ventures. We are serial founders who have sold a start-up before (https://medium.com/@TwizooSocial/all-good-things-can-get-bet...). The use of our platform is growing triple digits on average YoY and so we are responsibly growing our engineering team to keep up.
If you fancy joining a fast growing startup, feel you meet the requirements and are located on the US east coast or in the London area, I'd love to chat. Our interview process is simple and we move fast. See job descriptions. I'm Ryszard (https://www.linkedin.com/in/rtkaleta/), I help run our engineering team and the next step would be to speak to me f2f for 30 minutes to learn more about each other. Find me at hiring@getpurpledot.com.
Hello HN! We have hired a number of people from this monthly "Who is hiring?" post. Please don't be put off by how spare our website is. We are doing very exciting work at the nexus of biology and computer science, and we would love to talk to you. If you've reached out recently but haven't heard back, we appreciate your patience as we work through a backlog of submissions. We have primary offices in Mountain View, CA and Philadelphia, PA - so even though we have a number of remote and hybrid employees, we're particularly excited about hiring local people.
Nobias is a new pharma startup using a variety of built-from-scratch, custom AI tools to speed drug development. As an early stage biotech, we use large repositories of biological data, bleeding edge deep learning techniques, automated reasoning, and computational biochemistry to discover and develop new medicines, diagnostics/biomarkers, and biological insights for a variety of diseases, particularly pediatric rare diseases. If you have strong programming chops, a background in machine learning, and deep knowledge of biology or computational chemistry, we would love to speak with you.
Multiple roles are available - right now we are particularly concentrating on expanding our stable of AI engineers who have deep expertise in modern ML techniques. You should understand these techniques at the deepest level possible, and be able to extend existing research and construct new concepts from scratch, while also understanding cell and molecular biology very well. Finally, we are also recruiting for a leader in Translational Research. This position will focus more on outstanding biology knowledge and the process of moving from concept to validation.
