We're a Dental Support Organization running 65 practices across eight states. Dentistry doesn't sound like a technical job, but the platform behind it is: we've built our own operations system (Rails 8 + React, Electron, Go, and C#/.NET against OpenDental, all on AWS) and we're pushing hard on automation and AI to make the practices run better.
The team is small and developers own problems end-to-end. You'll figure out why a billing workflow breaks down, design the fix, ship it, and hear from the office manager who uses it the next week. Recent work includes an AI-first metrics layer that answers operational questions in chat, automated patient scheduling and communication, insurance verification scraping, and a live PMS integration across every practice. The domain is wide (clinical workflows, payroll, patient comms, revenue cycle) and there's a lot of novel work left once you learn the business. Big emphasis placed on being able to sit down with non-engineering team members and understand their workflows and build software to make it better.
Good fit if you want a stable company, a small team, broad latitude, and work that visibly matters to the people using it. We're actively building new features, not just maintaining what exists, so there's a healthy mix of greenfield work and improving a platform that's already in daily use by our nearly 1,000 employees.
Must reside in the US and be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Primarily hiring in the U.S. for more senior level roles.
We’re hiring across Engineering (Full-stack and Infra) and Data Science / ML roles. Hiring at Manager/Director level as well as mid-level/Senior levels. We’re language-agnostic and hire for fundamentals.
Across the team you’ll see: • Python, Go, Rust, Scala • PostgreSQL, Snowflake • Kafka, Redis • Terraform, Kubernetes • ML: XGBoost, PyTorch, Feature stores, real-time scoring pipelines
If you love solving complex distributed systems challenges, building customer-facing ML products, or working on detection systems that must be both high-precision and low-latency, you’ll fit right in.
Roles are here: https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/sentilink?utm_source=hacker_news If you have questions, feel free to reach out directly at liz.woodfield at sentilink dot com.
At SentiLink, we stop identity fraud at scale. Our products protect banks, fintechs, marketplaces, and leading financial institutions from synthetic identity fraud, identity theft, and emerging threat. We analyze millions of applications while keeping real users moving fast.
We’ve seen tremendous traction and are growing extremely quickly. Our real-time APIs have helped verify hundreds of millions of identities, starting with financial services and rapidly expanding into new markets. SentiLink is backed by world-class investors including Craft Ventures, Andreessen Horowitz, NYCA, and Max Levchin.
SentiLink supports a variety of ways to work, ranging from fully remote to in-office. We operate as a digital-first company with strong collaboration across the U.S. and India. We maintain physical offices in Austin, San Francisco, New York City, Seattle, Los Angeles, and Chicago in the U.S., and in Gurugram (Delhi) and Bengaluru in India. If you’re located near one of these offices, we would love for you to spend time in the office regularly. Some roles are hybrid or in-office by design. For example, our engineering team in India works primarily from our Gurugram office.
We’re a small, high-impact team solving one of the most interesting and adversarial problems in fintech: how do you build systems that reliably determine whether a real human is on the other side of a financial transaction?
NetBird is open source networking and access control WireGuard-based overlay networks with zero-config peer-to-peer connectivity. Open source, built in Europe, used by thousands of teams worldwide. We're a small and growing team going up against the incumbents in network security. Post Series A.
- Engineering Manager : You will take a huge part in leading and scaling our engineering org. Unblocking, scaling, hiring, you'll still read code and hold technical opinions that impact the product. We're not looking for a pure people manager. Networking/infra background is a plus, not a filter. If you've scaled a team from 0 to 20+ and seen your product scale too, I'd love to talk to you.
- Senior/Staff Backend Engineer (Golang) : the control plane: peer coordination, policy and access control, multi-tenancy, and keeping it all fast as customer networks grow into the hundreds of thousands of peers.
- Network / Client Engineer (Golang) — the agent side: WireGuard, NAT traversal and hole punching, relays, DNS, and shipping one client across Linux, macOS, Windows, iOS and Android. If you enjoy debugging why one connection out of a thousand won't go peer-to-peer, this is the role.
- Solutions Engineer — technical, customer-facing, pre/post-sales. You'll be the person who architects a rollout for a 500-person company's network live on a call, and a great channel back into the roadmap.
We have an office in Berlin and mostly work CET/CEST. We'd love to have you in the office with us, but if your experience is stellar we're happy to hire remote. We're scaling quickly, so this is a chance to join early and scale your career as well as with the company.
Apply at https://netbird.io/careers, please mention you found us on Hacker News in your application.
Mattermost (https://mattermost.com) is an open-core collaboration and workflow automation platform for air-gapped, on-prem and private clouds. Our customers are in defense, intelligence, security and critical infrastructure, including the USAF and NASA. Y Combinator led our Series B, their largest open source investment at the time.
Both openings are full stack on the core platform: Go backend, React/TypeScript frontend, PostgreSQL and Redis. The codebase is public (https://github.com/mattermost/mattermost), so most of what you build is too. We would rather hire people who ship and own complex software end to end than chase an exact stack match, so any systems or backend language and any frontend stack counts. What we look for in both roles: REST and WebSocket APIs with real networking fundamentals (HTTP, connection lifecycle), and relational databases including schema design and query optimization.
We use coding agents daily (Claude Code, Cursor, and others) for scaffolding, refactors, code review and test generation, and we treat that as core craft rather than a shortcut around the fundamentals. If you have a track record of shipping and owning complex software end-to-end, we want to hear from you.
*Senior Full Stack Engineer* $142,723 - $172,723 USD Architect and ship full stack features end to end, own the testing strategy for what you ship, and build internal tooling and testing infrastructure that makes the rest of the team faster. You will work without close supervision and hold the security and compliance bar our customers require. Nice to have: distributed systems and high availability architecture, regulated-environment security, open-source contributions, experience on remote-first teams.
Join our team: https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/mattermost/jobs/5379251008
*Staff Full Stack Engineer* $172,724 - $227,135 USD Set technical direction for the platform rather than for a feature area: architecture and roadmap across the stack, the standards for how the org uses coding agents, and the strategy for internal tooling and testing. You will influence direction across teams, partner with security and compliance on it, and mentor senior engineers. Nice to have: staff, principal or tech lead experience elsewhere, open-source maintainership, FedRAMP or ITAR familiarity, defense or critical infrastructure background.
Join our team: https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/mattermost/jobs/5405811008
Both roles have Canadian postings: https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/mattermost
Want to help out healthcare providers? Clinicians using our software are already saving hours a day and loving their job again. We are building Axo to make the software layer as invisible and ambient as possible, letting clinicians direct 100% of their attention to patients rather than screens.
Our first market is orthotics and prosthetics (O&P), the field designing braces and artificial limbs that restore human mobility and underserved by the tech sector. You’ll join as a founding engineer working directly with myself (former Google SWE) and my co-founder (one of the US's best known O&P clinicians), and small engineering team we want to grow.
You will own massive surfaces end-to-end, making foundational architectural decisions for our entire platform. We've got a massive pipeline ahead and need your help to build it. And we participate in humanitarian missions to expand prosthetic access in critical parts of the world like Ukraine and Sri Lanka.
- The Stack: C#/.NET, gRPC, SolidJS/TypeScript, and PostgreSQL, built with strict domain-driven design and rigorous testing.
- How we work: Flexibility! Love AI-assisted speed coding? Go for it. Prefer to write by hand because your mental model is faster than prompting? Perfect. We only care about delivering safely and quickly.
- Requirements: Senior-level depth with production systems, a strong habit of domain modeling, and a philosophy that defaults to simplicity. Strong UI/UX experience with an obsession for user simplicity is a must.
To apply, email me directly at jlyman@axoventures.co with a short story about a favorite technical challenge you solved end-to-end. Please put "HN" in the subject line! MUST be in Texas.
Loft builds and operates shareable satellites so customers can fly a payload without building a spacecraft. We integrate, launch, and operate the mission end to end: Earth observation, IoT, on-orbit AI, national security. 30+ missions flown since 2017, fleet on track for 30 satellites by 2027, offices in SF, Golden, and Toulouse.
Our Cloud Infrastructure team runs the ground segment that talks to the fleet. This is an SRE role with a twist: we apply DevOps practices to spacecraft control (we call it SatDevOps), and we'll train you to operate the satellites.
What you'd own: - Hybrid cloud infra on GCP + Kubernetes: provisioning (IaC), CI/CD, GitOps (ArgoCD/Flux) - The observability stack (Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, tracing) across ground and flight systems - Reliability: RCAs, fault tolerance, performance tuning, long-term fixes over patches - Software-defined networking between ground stations, cloud, and mission ops - Developer experience: tooling and environments for the flight software and ops teams
Looking for: strong public cloud (ideally GCP), deep Kubernetes, one backend language (Go/Python/Rust/C++/Java), IaC + CI/CD in anger, and someone who can design HA systems and then run them. Nice to have: FinOps, security tooling, orchestration in resource-constrained environments.
Benefits: 100% company-paid medical/dental/vision for you and dependents, 401(k) + equity, flexible PTO + 12 holidays, 14/10 weeks paid parental leave, daily catered lunch, relocation assistance, and time with the team in France.

We're a VC-funded startup (recently raised $51M Series C) building an infrastructure orchestrator and collaborative management platform for Infrastructure-as-Code – from OpenTofu, Terraform, Terragrunt, CloudFormation, Pulumi, Kubernetes, to Ansible.
On the backend we're using 100% Go with AWS primitives. We're looking for backend developers who like doing DevOps'y stuff sometimes (because in a way it's the spirit of our company), or have experience with the cloud native ecosystem. Ideally you'd have experience working with an IaC tool, i.e. Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible, CloudFormation, Kubernetes, or SaltStack.
Overall we have a deeply technical product, trying to build something customers love to use, and have a lot of happy and satisfied customers. We promise interesting work, the ability to open source parts of the project which don't give us a business advantage, as well as healthy working hours.
If that sounds like fun to you, please apply at https://careers.spacelift.io/jobs/3006934-software-engineer-...
You can find out more about the product we're building at https://spacelift.io and also see our engineering blog for a few technical blog posts of ours: https://spacelift.io/blog/engineering

Hiring for ~10 eng roles listed at astronomer.io/careers, but the focus is specifically on distributed systems, observability, and applied AI.
Astronomer is a primary contributor to Apache Airflow and offers our customers a managed Airflow service with a similar business model as Databricks with Spark or Confluent with Kafka. Our tech stack is primarily Go, Python, and TypeScript. The problems we work on generally center around (1) building out our commercial managed Airflow offering, (2) building a data + infra observability stack on top of Airflow, and (3) building AI products and experiences that are genuinely load-bearing and additive to our customers experience on the platform.
We're also starting to write more about the work we're doing, this is pretty representative: https://www.astronomer.io/blog/astro-airflow-re-engineered-f...
Apply using our website or email me - my email is [firstname]@astronomer.io. Include HN in the subject to make sure I don't miss it! If you're emailing me, please include your resume, GitHub and a short note on what you deem to be the most interesting thing you've worked on.
