Bubblehouse is a fast-growing custom loyalty platform, tripling the revenue each year. Headquartered in NYC, the entire team is fully remote and spread across the globe. We power loyalty programs for brands like American Girl and Old Spice.
We’re expanding our lean team of extremely experienced developers. Companies are switching from other platforms thanks to the customizations and flexibility that we offer, enabled by our pace and technical excellence, which we intend to keep for years to come.
We run on Golang and use custom data storage on top of local key-value stores, colocating the storage and compute on dedicated hardware servers, and reading data directly from mmap’ed pages of the database. Ever came across HN saying that one can run Twitter on a single machine these days? We’re doing that in production.
Zero lines of React, almost zero third-party dependencies (carefully vetted), every line of JavaScript manually written with respect and understanding of the web platform. We render HTML server-side like it’s 2005.
Looking for:
1. Top to bottom understanding of the software stack, from the modern-ish web platform to CPU caches.
2. Thinking and problem solving outside the box. (We don’t _always_ go for unconventional solutions, but we do it often enough to require a person who can do justice considering the entire problem space at every step.)
3. Demonstrated ability and hunger to learn new things quickly. (Every month we’re doing things we have never done before.)
4. Broad experience across multiple programming paradigms, platforms and software stacks.
5. Demonstrated care for the software craftsmanship (which can take many forms).
6. Great spoken English, and ability to communicate 9am to noon in New York time zone.
We give you a literally fast-paced environment (with features delivered in days) where you need to solve very challenging problems with practical advanced technology, take on entrenched market leaders, and help entrepreneurs across small and large businesses delight their fans.
Send a plain text cover letter to andrey+hiring@bubblehouse.com. Help us see how you stand out. Summarize your experience. Link to 1–5 impressive things you’ve built and proud of, link to where we can see some of your code, include your portfolio/CV, describe the platforms and stacks you’re an expert in. How did you start programming? What are you most passionate about in technology? What are the most interesting or weird things you’ve done? What are your strongest held professional opinions? Please make your email easy to read, we’ll appreciate that.
(If you have applied before, no need to re-apply, we’ll reach out.)

Oils is our upgrade path from bash to a better language and runtime.
We’ve been awarded a 4th grant from https://nlnet.nl, and our focus is to show that OSH can be the ONLY shell on a Unix system, which is hard
It looks like we will reach this goal! Other than me, there are 4 people working PART TIME on this, and we can use more help.
If you like hunting down difficult bugs, and are skilled at Unix and Python, this could be a good fit.
Most bugs are too hard for 1 person to fix by themselves, so communication is important. And writing good test cases is important.
We’re also paying people to do polished writing, since we'd like to spread the word
Starting from 131, we’re down to 41 disagreements between OSH and sh/ash/bash, when building ~1600 packages in Alpine Linux
https://op.oils.pub/aports-build/published.html
Anyone who's not “scared” of these bugs is probably a good fit, and you can do as much or as little as you like. This is also an opportunity to get deeper into the interpreter
Communication happens on Zulip, and we also have video meetings approximately every 2 weeks
I'll have a blog post explaining this work soon, but feel free to e-mail me if this (unusual) job matches your interests. Any questions are very welcome, and you can dip your toes in to see if it works for you
I wrote this page a few years ago to help people assess the fit: https://github.com/oils-for-unix/oils/wiki/Where-Contributor...
The job is remote-only, and we slightly prefer non-US contributors due to our funding
Tech stack: Python, Shell, perhaps C++
Contact: andychup@gmail.com
I’m the founder, trying to do “enlightened business.” We are a people-first, fully-remote, boutique indie tech agency – building a team of talented, high integrity, and community-minded individuals first, then building businesses around them. Our leadership staff are ex-Fortune 100; everybody touches code. Notable recent projects: internal tools for Anduril, and voltagepark.com.
We’re currently especially seeking:
Frontend Engineers (React, NextJS, Typescript; Animations, Performance optimization; sfbay local a plus)
Teamcenter and Odoo developers (C++/Java/Python; Siemens Teamcenter; Custom applications, workflows, data model updates)
IoT Developers (Python, MQTT, GraphQL, AWS, Test Infrastructure)
Full-Stack Software Engineers (React, Python, Ruby on Rails; Database Design, Devops, and third-party API integrations)
Please apply using this Google Form: https://forms.gle/3Hv6cwZzAzwqKMGz9. Applicants who submit before October 17 will typically receive a reply by October 24. Tier3 roles are typically 5-10 y/o/e with $150-$175k annual total comp. Tier4 roles are 11-20 y/o/e, $210-$250k annual total comp. Higher tiers exist, and we welcome exceptional applications.

You'll tackle everything from optimizing LLM performance and building evals to integrating APIs like Amadeus and Duffel. At Tandem Health we're building a clinician copilot to allow clinicians to focus on care rather than administration. We’re building, launching and iterating quickly, and are already rolling out across some of the largest care chains across Europe, including most of the NHS.
Our core product listens in to the patient-clinician encounter to generate medical records, allowing clinicians to save 5-10 minutes per patient. No longer do clinicians have to catch up on administration after hours. Some even tell us that their partners notice they're much more relaxed after starting to use our product, and we couldn't be happier :)
We’re expanding our Stockholm team with exceptional engineers! We use Python (backend), TypeScript/React (frontend) and C# (Windows app) and our infrastructure runs on Kubernetes in Azure. We’re especially keen to talk to Staff Engineers (backend) and Senior AI Engineers (e.g. LLMs and the scaffolding around, computer-use agents)
Even if we don’t have a role out your specific skill set, we’d love to talk! Our tech team is small but growing and you’ll have an outsized impact on an important problem.

Phrasing is a language learning app built by a polyglot, for polyglots. It was designed to be language agnostic, and currently fully supports over 80 languages. It brings a beautiful, simple, and addictive [1] learning experience to languages big and small, and helps users learn 2-10x more in the same amount of time [2].
The tech stack is a ClojureScript PWA on the front end, and an Elixir umbrella application on the backend. The data processing happens in Broadway pipelines, and are horizontally scalable with FLAME. All of the data is stored in Postgres, and most of the communication between the client and server happens with a custom local-second sync engine à la Linear.app.
The company is bootstrapped and bespoke. There’s no investors, there’s no AI generated code, no shadcdn UIs. I miss the days of the early internet, and acutely feel the mass enshittification of the web. I’m really trying to do something different with the experience as well as the business, all in hopes to bring back a little bit of that wonder that was so prevalent in the days of the early internet.
The app is all working, the experience is great, and the onboarding was just finished. I’ve been using the app now to successfully learn 18 languages [3] and it’s truly a joy to use. Just finishing up the new site [4] after feedback from our last launch and getting ready for more launches [5]. The new video has been getting some pretty rave reviews and is a good gentle introduction to the app [6]
For me, this app is a dream app. This tech stack is a dream tech stack. This company is a dream company. It’s hard to believe I’m the only one these would all be true for.
I’m looking for someone who believes in the product, mission [6], and tech to come in and help me turn this functioning application into something truly great. No experience is required — just a dedication for your craft, and the willingness to take a chance in something you believe in.
If you feel that this post was written for you, please write me a well written personalized CV to hn at phrasing dot app. Low effort applications will not receive a response regardless of your CV.

Ideal background includes two or more of the following:

- Full-stack engineering with equal comfort across both frontend + backend
- AI/ML expertise
Tech Stack:
- SvelteKit, Tailwind, DaisyUI, Postgres, and Supabase

REMOTE-first with a focus around Eastern Time, and a team between Central European Time to ET. We also have a physical office in NYC.
We are an early-stage, well-funded startup making humans and computers work together more efficiently. Experienced team from Apple AIML and other great companies.
We're looking for a polyglot "startup engineer" at the Staff+ level can help with the end-to-end implementation of new features and capabilities and who can move between different components, be creative, be flexible, take ownership, and get things done. We have a complex, challenging product, but one that's amazing to work on and that will soon change how people think about working with each other and with AI.
You'll enjoy this role if:
- You like going 0 to 1 with high ownership: moving features and products from idea on a napkin, to prototype, to engineering UI, to shipped and polished product
- You are innovative, get satisfaction out of learning new things, and thrive in an environment of uncertainty and opportunity
To succeed, you should:
- Have the wisdom to know when to take the fast route vs when to step back and clean up your mess
- Be capable and excel on your own, but be humble and communicate well with others as projects require more collaboration
- Be versed across many programming languages (e.g. from C++/Java/Swift to Go to JavaScript or Python)
- Have worked on many types of projects and software -- have you built servers, written games, shipped native apps, and vibe-coded (kidding) web apps? If so, you're a fit.
- Be versatile and work both high level and low level, on old tech and new. Have you both prompt-engineered an LLM AND tweaked the code that decodes tokens in your own local LLM runner? If so, you're a fit.

Hey everyone. I'm a Principal Engineer at Censys. We are the source for Internet Intelligence. We conduct a full internet survey every day and turn that into actionable data for folks to identify risk, research emerging internet threats, and make the internet a safer place. In education, we have always traded off scale and quality. In a 30-student math class, half of kids are ready to accelerate while half are still working on their foundational skills, but teachers cannot be in 30 places at once, giving each student one-on-one support.
Until now. Imagine 30 teachers in every classroom—that's how Goblins feels. Students draw math on any device, and our AI figures out the "why" behind their confusion, giving instant feedback and building conceptual foundations. (Preview: https://youtu.be/SH9UomzBMUs)
Goblins launched to school districts in the spring of 2025. Since then we've built a waitlist of thousands of teachers and sold Goblins to districts across the US (we'll hit 100k+ paid students this year!). We are in the unique position of having a product that is both highly differentiated and demanded :)
Technical problems we've worked on in the past:
→ Building knowledge graphs that adapt to student performance in real-time, routing them to the optimal next problem they should solve to maximize learning and engagement.
→ Extending our handwriting recognition from digital canvas to real paper through Chromebook cameras (think real-time OCR on math equations through low-quality webcams with poor lighting and limited CPU).
→ Creating interactive mathematical lessons (think 3blue1brown, but conversational) that remediate student misconceptions.
You'll be joining founding team members Sawyer (CEO, former Head of Design at X1 [acquired by Robinhood] and math teacher) and Alp (CTO, ex-Stripe and Amazon), plus two other exceptional founding engineers.
We move fast, care deeply about craft, and obsess over delighting users. If you're interested, email alp@goblinsapp.com :)
Your code will run the gates at zoos and theme parks across Germany and the USA. When families scan tickets, when capacity limits kick in based on visitors and available resources (staff, equipment, facilities), when dynamic pricing adjusts for weather - that's our Rails app making real-time decisions for thousands of visitors daily.
We're 5 engineers at ToucanTix (sister company Combase has 80+). You'd have serious ownership and architectural influence from day one.
Technical challenges that actually matter:
Multi-tenant architecture supporting 100+ venues with wildly different business logic. Offline-first POS that syncs flawlessly. Complex pricing rules (weather + season + capacity + customer type) that need to stay performant. Hardware integrations with access control and payment systems.
Stack: Rails 7+ API with GraphQL (graphql-ruby), PostgreSQL doing serious heavy lifting with multi-tenant architecture, Redis for speed-critical stuff, SvelteKit frontend (if you're full-stack curious), Google Cloud infrastructure (Cloudtasker, Cloud Storage), RSpec/Capybara keeping everything bulletproof
You: 5+ years Rails. Strong at PostgreSQL optimization. Have architected systems for performance and scale. Comfortable owning technical decisions.
Us: Real ownership. No layers of management. Async-first remote culture. Profitable company, not burning VC cash. Your work has physical impact - people literally can't enter the attraction if your code breaks.

You will be building procedural simulation models and the supporting infrastructure and applications. We're a small team, so this means everything from CUDA kernels and Pytorch notebooks to web-apps. Our stack is multi-lingual and spans from very low to very high level code. We use both our own models and external providers.
Our team is hybrid-remote, being primarily based in San Francisco.
Our stack: Python (Pytorch/jax), Typescript(React etc), Rust/C++, Ghidra
We're looking for exceptional research engineers who aren't afraid to get their hands dirty. Experience with computational geometry or compilers/language design/formal methods is a plus.

YC has been building ever-more ambitious software for founders to succeed -- since Garry returned. In the last year, our team delivered:
* Safe tools that has processed $1B+ in seed funding in last 4 batches
* Fundraising CRM for founders manage their fundraise -- used by all founders
* Work at a Startup has 1M+ candidates on it, with 1000s of hires/year
There are ton of ways we see YC Software benefitting our alumni and investors -- and we want founder/founding engineer minded people to drive each into standalone products.
Yet in reality, we're a team of 14 full-stack product engineers, the company is 85 people, and we intend to stay small and scrappy. I was the 7th engineer at salesforce and loved the early stage, and we get to be that way at YC... indefinitely.
YC is also knee-deep in applying AI tools and techniques across all of our product surface areas, and investor-focused work is no exception. We’re happy to share more when we chat in person.
We also want to work with people who love building full stack web apps. While our stack is Rails, React and Postgres, mostly we’re just a bunch of pragmatic builders who are excited about shipping and having impact.
Two roles are posted below: Investor Software and Post Batch (all SW after the batch).
If you're interested, read more below and email me directy with what you'd be excited to build here: ryan@ycombinator.com.

I'm Shambhav, CTO & co-founder at Zoca. I'm building a team to push the boundaries of what's possible with AI.
So far, we've built a platform from Bangalore that has outperformed every competitor in our space — small businesses happily pay us 10x our competitors' price because our agents actually work. These agents work like real business partners, generate leads, do followups, book appointments, manage reviews and more. We're already powering growth for over a thousand businesses.
In the next 12 months, we're going to scale this to tens of thousands, while making the agents smarter, more reliable, and capable of things people think aren't possible today. We'll be working on technical challenges like multi-channel conversations, browser automation at scale, retrieval pipelines, and real-time monitoring/eval loops.
I need AI Engineers who want to build like founders — not paper over things in a research repo, but ship production systems that touch real users. Strong TS/Python skills, a builder's mindset, and a track record of actually building (agents, GSoC projects, or similar) is what I'm looking for.
If this excites you, send me an email at shambhav@zoca.com with your working demos or GitHub profile. Show me what you've hacked on.
Tired of trying to beat kube into shape? Does writing YAML to ship code fill you with utter dread? Dream of a future where deploying software is simple, and you don't need an army of infrastructure engineers to build that perfect janky bash script™ to make life easy?
We're Railway, and we think infrastructure can be better. So far we've built out a platform loved by hundreds of thousands of users who simply tell us "Give me Postgres", "Deploy this repo", and we make it happen
Fair warning! The problems are complex: home-rolled hypervisors, cut-above container orchestration, over/under/whateverlay networks, virtio device drivers, edge proxies, IAM that doesn't suck, kitchen sinks - we need to build it and we're looking for likeminded individuals who think this stuff is fun.

Do you want to develop software that helps scientists, doctors, and historians discover breakthroughs? Join our small, fully-distributed software development team to help connect scholars of all disciplines with peer-reviewed journal articles.
Our company has been remote-first since we began in 2011. You’ll join a team with plenty of experience putting into practice what works well remotely, and avoiding what doesn’t. Third Iron has never taken VC money, and we’ve never had layoffs. Our approach to hiring and selling our products helps us feel confident that this pattern will continue far into the future.
Third Iron software is used by researchers at over 1,500 libraries, including universities, hospitals, corporations, and government agencies located in over 35 countries.
In a refreshing change from advertising-dependent tech companies and those who sell user data, we instead have a business-to-business model. We sell our subscription-based services to libraries, and anyone affiliated with one of these libraries can use our software. We do not sell user data. Our focus is on building the best software to enable research that changes the world.
We’re looking for a developer interested in full-stack work, since we have a variety of upcoming initiatives, some being mostly front-end, some being mostly back-end, and some a balance of the two.
The front-end of our stack primarily consists of JavaScript, using EmberJS for two major projects, and React for two others. Our backend is written in NodeJS, and features data storage using PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, and CouchDB, and hosting primarily on AWS and HEroku.
If you’re interested in this fully remote position, we're interested to chat with you! Please email careers@thirdiron.com or apply at https://thirdiron.applytojob.com/apply/McK2VdxTuX/Senior-Ful...
