At Insight M, we combine innovative aerospace systems with advanced data science. Unlike traditional aerospace companies, we sell information, not hardware - we operate our sensors cost-effectively at a continental scale to produce novel data streams about pressing global problems.
First on our list: spotting hard-to-monitor emissions of methane, a potent greenhouse gas that accelerates climate change. Since starting continuous survey operations in 2018, Insight M has removed methane emissions equal to over 250 million tonnes of CO2e through our work. To put that in perspective, that’s equivalent to over 60 million cars being removed from the roads or shutting down about one hundred and sixty 350 MW coal-fired power plants for a year. That's like planting 4.2 billion urban trees and letting them grow for 10 years.
We call that a good start.
As a team, we love science and engineering, we love getting our hands dirty with hardware and software, and we love seeing our work make a difference in the real world.
We’ve created a diverse, collaborative, supportive, and fun environment based on integrity and treating people right. So no matter your sex, gender, sexual identity, gender identity, race, age, beliefs, sexual orientation, or disabilities, we welcome you and would like to work with you. :-)
It’s never boring, it’s always challenging, and we’re usually laughing.
A note of encouragement: If you don't meet 100% of the qualifications on our open job descriptions: https://jobs.lever.co/InsightM, you should still seriously consider applying.
Individuals with a disability are encouraged to contact [interview.accommodations@insightm.com] to request assistance with your application and accommodations in advance of your interview.

Look at the latest government‑tech headlines and you’ll find our customers. Pursuit (https://pursuit.us) is using AI to fix one of America’s costliest, most overlooked problems: the painful process of selling to 109 000+ state and local agencies. We turn budget PDFs, board‑meeting transcripts, and financial reports into structured insight so the best vendors—not just the best‑connected—win.
About Pursuit Founded after our previous founder's company exited for $200 M; 15 months in with clear product‑market fit.
Trusted by: OpenGov, Flock Safety, Wiz, Granicus, Qualtrics, NeoGov and 50+ other top GovTech/SLED vendors.
Backed by: Jack Altman, Blake Robbins, Bill Gurley, Sam Hinkie, AI Grant, and angels behind OpenAI, Rippling, Airtable, Anduril.
Why We’re Different: Deep signal – we mine every public document others ignore. Compounding data loop – more FOIA data → better models → faster wins. System‑level rethink – we’re not optimizing the old process; we’re rebuilding it. Real traction – Pursuit is the default tool for vendors tired of surprise RFPs and incumbent lock‑in.
What We’re Looking For:
* Engineers who want to die knowing they made the country better.
* People who enjoy weird, high‑scale data problems.
* Builders willing to chip away at a system everyone else gave up on.
Apply at https://pursuit.us/careers or email us directly at careers@pursuit.us (mention “HN Who’s Hiring”).

We're a quantum computing non-profit organization, and we are looking for a web developer.
The job is classical — mostly building web portals — but those portals open into the quantum world.
Quantum computing knowledge is a plus, but not required. The initial project is a platform to understand the trajectory of quantum computing. The focus is on data visualization, so strong skills in that area are preferred. The candidate will work mostly alongside quantum engineers and researchers, so ownership to work independently on the classical side of things is important.
The stack of the main web project is PERN, but the organization maintains other projects in Python.

We're right at the center of defining how people will build with AI in the coming years. But to truly lead this very competitive space, we need someone to tackle the massive challenge of define n8n's core AI strategy and execute the roadmap that makes us the undisputed default tool for AI building. That's where you come in.
What we’re looking for (the unicorn) - Great PM skills: You thrive in high-pace, high-uncertainty environments, can prioritize the most important things from a long list and ruthlessely focus on what’s important. You should also be technical and able to empathise with our technical user base. - AI Native: You bring a deep, nuanced understanding of the modern AI landscape, are well connected in the AI space (part of the "inner circle," know the key players/research) and have informed opinions on where the market’s heading - Humble & passionate: You bring a deep passion for product craft and making an impact. You’re humble, authentic, radically transparent but yet have strong convictions and can stand your ground.
Important: We only hire in Europe timezones, so you either need to live here or be willing to relocate.
We know this is a rare combination and a demanding role with incredibly high expectations. You'll be shaping the future of AI development for potentially millions of users. If you read this and thought "holy crap, that's exactly me," or you know the perfect person, we want to talk. Just ping me via email.

Would you like to help tackle one of the most important sectors for the global economy - maritime shipping? We're hiring for multiple roles: software engineers, data analysts, UI/UX designers, implementation managers.
Nearly every person is affected by stuff shipping on the seas - whether its energy, ore, or wind turbines, but the industry itself is antiquated and archaic, and hampered by paperwork and bureaucracy. Our customers are crying out for better solutions. We're looking for people to help us build those solutions.
If you're the sort of person who is: - intellectually curious about new industries - wanting talking to and getting close to end users - keen to use LLMs and other AI tools
Then please get in touch.

For our SWE roles we have budgeted ~ 90k USD.
Our tech stack for new projects is largely typescript/vue/mysql (we have several fans of fp-ts and EffectT with us and are investing in using more functional programming). But like the industry at large we also have significant legacy code in javascript. If you're the sort of person who likes refactoring complex projects to make them more workable, then we also want to hear from you.
--
For our Data Analyst or Implementation Manager roles:
You'll be helping our customers in maritime shipping get the most from our software. Initially, a lot of that work will be in helping our customers get their data in and out of it. Lot's of MySQL, Metabase, AWS Glue, DBT, or other ETL pipelines.
--
For our UI/UX designer roles we have budgeted ~ 40k USD.
You'll be helping us on three different axes: (1) designing the user interface for new features, (2) fleshing out the user journeys and mockups for our roadmap, and (3) helping us craft a consistent and learnable user experience across all our software.
--
We hire remotely and globally with offices in Houston, London, Singapore, and Joinville (Brasil). You should be fluent in English. The current team is >20 people. You should be in a timezone within 3 hours of one of those offices.

We’re a small <25 employee firm that builds primarily custom web application software for a wide range of clients—public and private, large and small. We’ve been entirely remote for over 25 years, and have cultivated an asynchronous environment supported by a careful selection of tools and processes to enable people to work flexibly and efficiently. We’ve aimed for consistent steady growth and achieved that by consistently delivering quality software to our clients, and understanding their requirements often better than they do themselves.
Almost everything we code is in Javascript so relevant experience around that, typescript, React, and the Node.js ecosystem is all great.

Chorus One operates validators on many proof-of-stake blockchains (the ones where security is based on a Byzantine fault-tolerant consensus algorithm rather than wasting energy). We are hiring for several roles, but the one I will highlight is what we call Platforms Engineer. Some companies call this Site Reliability Engineering or DevOps.
The main thing we do is take upstream software, build it, run it on our infrastructure, and then monitor it and optimize that setup. Some things that make this interesting are:
* Building automation that enables us to do this for many networks (70+ currently). * Doing this with high uptime, building automation for failover, etc. * Working with software that is on the one hand cutting-edge and doing interesting things (consensus algorithms, distributed systems, cryptography), but on the other hand that means it’s immature and often not easy to operate and monitor. Often we have to build custom tools, and dive into the source code of the project. We contribute patches upstream when it makes sense. * Some of these projects are exercising the limits of what a machine can do, we have to do some low-level investigation that requires understanding of what the Linux kernel and network hardware are doing to properly identify what’s going on. We do have a small cloud footprint, but run primarily on bare metal. We are looking for people who can not just configure services offered by the public clouds, but who deeply understand what lies below; people who could build their own cloud. That sounds a bit pretentious and it’s not exactly what we do, but it does involve many of the same aspects.A recent example of what I personally find fascinating: last March, Ethereum’s Holesky testnet experienced loss of liveness. This is a real-world, globally distributed system that implements Byzantine fault tolerance, with multiple independent implementations of the protocol. Several of these implementations had a bug in an update, which caused a split in the network. The protocol is designed to handle this situation in theory, but in practice it is triggering previously unexplored failure modes in the implementations, that are hard to test for in synthetic small-scale tests. I think there are very few places where you get to be involved in a planet-scale distributed system exhibiting “interesting” behavior, especially one that is not in control of a single entity. Of course, there is also the less fun part that the testnet was broken, alerts are firing, and it was hard and chaotic to coordinate a fix when the network is not controlled by a single entity. Fortunately it’s a testnet.
We’re looking for platforms engineers and software engineers to help build the automation, but also to dive into the node software of the blockchains we validate and see if there are opportunities for us to outperform the rest of the network; Rust experience is valuable there.
